It's safe to say that most dogs will wind up with a case of worms at some point. Puppies are especially susceptible to infestations. Veterinarians normally prescribe a de-worming medication, but chemical remedies are really not good for the dog. Natural homemade remedies are healthier and work just as well.

Thanks for the quick shipment of this dewormer. I live in the US and was surprised at how quickly this came. I was able to give it to all 3 dogs and all 5 cats, but it was something of a challenge to get it in a few of them. The two outside cats rarely ever get canned food, so I crushed it up and put it in some canned food for them--they loved the food regardless of the medicine in it. I was able to stuff it down the throats of the the three inside cats and one of my dogs--she put up a fight! One dog ate it crushed in her food, but my stubborn little mini pom wouldn't cooperate with anything I tried. I sometimes give the dogs chewy treats and this little girl swallows her whole, so I cut the pill in smaller pieces and hid it inside a few treats. All animals are now dewormed . . . woo hoo!

The higher de-worming level I mentioned earlier is what I use two to four times a year if ticks get very bad. Or else, I’ll give the dogs an extra mid-month (roundworm-control-size) dose, and that helps control the ticks a great deal. The nasty little arthropods still bite, but very few survive long enough to suck much blood. They tend to “die and dry.” By the way, this “larger dose” (as I call the one I give for other than heartworm preventive), is the same that pigs get by injection. And as I said, not as much gets absorbed through the gut as would if injected subcutaneously.Another ‘high risk’ group for acquiring tapeworms is dogs with fleas, so as well as giving a good deworming preventative, a product that kills fleas should also be used to prevent reinfection.
